Bringing Hope to Ethiopia
About TSW
Tarkanfi-Start Walking (TSW), a MN nonprofit, shares God's Love and Hope with marginalized communities in Ethiopia by supporting projects that honor and partner with community groups so that the quality of life improves for all.
TSW provides support in two ways: 1.) project funding, through donations, and, 2.) project leadership through our founder Mrs. Worknesh Begi who spends most of her time in Ethiopia, in volunteer mission, directing charitable and sustainable development projects.
Hope for Remote, Destitute Villages
In 2011, the leaders of Dode Village listed community priorities:
1.) clean water, 2.) increase household incomes, 3.) education.
Under founder Mrs. Worknesh Begi's award-winning guidance, the community made amazing progress in all three areas, and more! -- record numbers of students now attend school -- a new school, which is the pride of the region!
So many villages need help with these three basics:
1.) clean water, 2.) increase household incomes, 3.) education.

Hope for Dukem Prostitutes
Dukem is a notorious road stop for sex, drugs and liquor. Women in the hundreds who have been displaced from their land, come to Dukem looking for work. Finding none, destitute, desperate, they sink into prostitution to try to feed their children and survive.
Through microfinance groups, small-business training, and
Mrs. Worknesh Begi's compassionate mentoring, Tarkanfi helps women regain their dignity . . . and their lives!
Funds are needed to provide training for hundreds more. ... and especially, to build a Training Center where education for a variety of career opportunities can be offered.
We're helping hundreds and hundreds of people back to LIFE! - you and me!
